Ruthie Henshall, singing star of the West End and Broadway, has announced a special UK tour for the Autumn. ‘Sounds Of Hollywood’ is a step back in time to the glamorous era of the greatest musicals, made legendary through the big screen. The show will see the Olivier award-winning actress performing live in her own incomparable style such classics as, ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business’, ‘Wouldn't It Be Loverly’, ‘People’, ‘Don't Rain on My Parade’, ‘Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better’, ‘The Man That Got Away’ and ‘Somewhere over the Rainbow’ from Oscar-winning movies such as ‘My Fair Lady’, ‘Funny Girl’ and ‘A Star is Born’.

Commenting on the tour, Ruthie said: “I am really looking forward to performing a programme of such fantastic songs that have become defining moments in each of the movies in which they appear. Along with a live orchestra and my guest singers/dancers, it’s a great opportunity to perform such unforgettable Hollywood classics”.

Ruthie is currently starring in “CHICAGO” playing the role of ‘Roxie Hart’ until July 18th on Broadway. Ruthie Henshall originated the role of ‘Roxie Hart’ in 1997 in London - for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award - when “CHICAGO” first conquered the West End.

“CHICAGO” opened at the Adelphi Theatre on 18 November 1997 to rave reviews and immediately became a sell-out hit.  "CHICAGO" won the 1998 Laurence Olivier Award for 'Outstanding Musical Production' as well as the 1998 Critics Circle Drama Award for 'Best Musical'.  “CHICAGO” transferred from the Adelphi Theatre to the Cambridge Theatre in April 2006 where it has recently celebrated 5000 performances in the West End.  Currently playing in New York, Australia, Denmark and on tour both in the UK and US, with forthcoming productions in Japan, Korea, Holland and Spain, "CHICAGO" is produced in London by the Broadway producers Barry and Fran Weissler.

"CHICAGO", which is based on the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, has a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. "CHICAGO" is choreographed by Ann Reinking in the style of Bob Fosse and directed by Walter Bobbie.  The West End production of "CHICAGO" is staged by the entire original Broadway creative team.
